Welcome to our North London Therapy Practice. I am Alan Garber, a dedicated CBT therapist committed to supporting individuals in navigating their mental health journeys with understanding, compassion, and expertise. Through the principles of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), I offer a secure environment for clients to enhance their emotional, cognitive, and behavioural well-being.

 

My Approach

My practice is deeply influenced by my diverse background, including my time serving as a hospital chaplain. This experience has enriched my understanding of the profound impact of spiritual and emotional support in healing and recovery. Specialising in behavioural activation and mindfulness, I aim to empower my clients by working collaboratively to develop personalised strategies that address their unique needs. My approach combines motivational skills, deep compassion, and a keen sensitivity to each client's cultural, spiritual, and personal background, ensuring a holistic path to wellness.

 

Position at Priory

As a CBT therapist at Priory Hospital North London, I am proud to be a part of a renowned team since December 2021. I am currently a member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP). My role allows me to bring the latest and most effective CBT practices to our clients, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care.

Qualifications

BA Hons University of Leeds, graduated in 1997.

Post Graduate Diploma in CBT, University of Hertfordshire, graduated in 2022.

 

With a foundation in Human Geography, I bring a unique perspective to my practice, understanding the complex interplay between individuals and their environments. My subsequent specialization in CBT equips me with the tools to effectively address a wide range of mental health issues.

I offer comprehensive support for a variety of mental health conditions, including:
