I am a highly experienced Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with 20 years of experience in mental health, including 15 years as a Senior Psychotherapist within a busy London NHS service. During this time, I have supported individuals and couples struggling with depression, anxiety, and other emotional difficulties, helping them make meaningful and lasting changes. Alongside my clinical work, I have extensive experience supervising and managing other therapists, ensuring the highest standard of care for both clients and clinicians. My predominant approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based, structured method that explores the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
By identifying and understanding unhelpful patterns, CBT empowers clients to develop healthier coping strategies. However, I believe that therapy should never be a one-size-fits-all process. I tailor my approach to each individual, ensuring they feel heard, supported, and understood. I pride myself on being approachable, genuine, and flexible, meeting clients wherever they are in their journey. Whether someone is seeking short-term strategies or deeper self-exploration, I adapt my methods to best suit their unique needs and goals.
Above all, I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can openly share their difficulties. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I work side by side with my clients to explore challenges and find meaningful ways to move forward toward positive change.
In addition to one-to-one CBT, I have a special interest in working with couples and am trained in Couple Therapy for Depression. When one or both partners are struggling with depression, it can place strain on the relationship, just as relationship difficulties can contribute to depression. This approach helps couples navigate challenges while addressing the emotional impact on their connection and well-being. As a qualified Couples Therapy for Depression supervisor, I also support other therapists in delivering this relationship-focused intervention.
