Ivana Michels

Integrative Counsellor

In-Person & Online Therapy sessions £70

Hi, I'm Ivana.
I've always had an interest in the relational aspects of life and the relationship we have with ourselves.

I offer a secure, warm, and non-judgmental space for clients (adults and adolescents) who are wanting to explore themselves and their concerns more deeply. We will work collaboratively as I believe that the attunement between the client and the therapist is vital. I will hold a space for you to feel seen and heard, working towards healing and personal growth. My training is trauma informed. I offer an integrative approach, adapting my approach according to your specific needs.

My educational background is within Psychology, and I completed my Masters in The Psychoanalytical Approach to Observation at Tavistock and Portman NHS trust and in Integrative approach to counselling, which combines different theories – creating holistic perspective. I am accredited member of National Counselling society and Registered British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, upholding high ethical standards.

I will work to understand your existence from your point of view. I will positively value you as a client, in all aspects of your humanity and remain open and genuine. My focus is for you to feel accepted and to reconnect with your own resources. My goal is to help you to gain a better understanding of your own feelings and rediscover your self-worth – helping you to move forward.

My background:
I specialise in anxiety, stress, depression, work and relationship issues, anger, grief and loss. I believe that early development provides us with a narrative which both positive and negative patterns can emerge. Exploring these patterns can help us to understand how to move forward and how to better relate to the world around us.

I have also been working in education for the last twenty plus years in a different role.  Having an educational background and expertise in a wide range from perinatal development observations, early years to Applied behaviour analysis on autism spectrum.  I chose to study early years development for my master’s and further dwell into a child’s world of emotions by completing a certificate in counselling for children, using different creative aspects to help children to open. I offer counselling for 13 plus to help them with their anxiety, their self-esteem and navigate any issues that would help them feel like themselves again.

I have experience working with trauma and anxiety relating issues. I have completed additional training in providing therapeutic safety in trauma. I have worked with a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, bereavement and loss, low self-confidence and relational issues, although not limited to those listed above.

I hope that you find something connecting within the outline of my style and expertise - something that speaks directly to you.
