Ceri Lush
Psychodynamic Counsellor and Psychotherapist
In-Person & Online Therapy sessions £70
Hello. Making the decision to go for counselling or psychotherapy can feel very daunting; financially and emotionally it represents a significant commitment. My experience in this role comes from working for a number of years (and continuing to do so) as a psychotherapist with adults from a wide range of backgrounds and ethnicities from 18 years to 80+ within the NHS.
My practice as a psychotherapist is based on psychodynamic principles, which broadly means I am interested in working relationally at depth; exploring links between past and present feelings and behaviours, conscious and unconscious thoughts. I can work with you short term – perhaps around 3 months – or longer term, in an explorative, non-directive way with whatever you bring to me; including a range of emotional difficulties – depression, anxiety, identity or intercultural issues, loss, traumatic experiences, workplace and relationship problems.
I offer no quick fixes, but with greater understanding around unhelpful relationship patterns and processes, personal agency increases and with it the possibility of lasting change.
I am registered with both the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and I am DBS checked.
I am a qualified DIT practitioner (Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy – a 16 session therapy model) and I have a Masters Postgraduate Degree from Birkbeck College, University of London in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy. Please do get in touch to arrange an initial consultation if you would like to find out more.
