Lina Milner
Psychosexual Therapist, Relationship Counsellor & Supervisor

Individuals £95
Couples £125

My name is Lina Milner, and I am an experienced relationship counsellor, psychosexual therapist, and clinical supervisor, registered with the BACP and COSRT.

My journey in therapy began in 2006 at the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships. I furthered my expertise with a Master's in Relationship Therapy and a PGDip in Psychosexual Therapy from the Relate Institute. Additionally, I am trained as a clinical supervisor through The Grove Practice, offering supervision to both trainees and experienced counsellors across Relate National, NHS, and private practices. I also support people with returning to sexual functioning after cancer treatments, currently practicing as a psychosexual therapist with Royal Marsden Hospital.

I practice integrative therapy, drawing from various counselling approaches such as systemic, psychodynamic, and CBT. This allows me to tailor interventions to meet the unique needs of each client. By blending different psychological theories and research, integrative therapy offers a flexible and inclusive approach, accommodating the complexities of individual cases.

Relationship Therapy

Relationship therapy aims to help individuals understand the roots of their relationship distress or feelings of disconnection from their partner. If you are unhappy with a certain dynamic, we will explore its origins, triggers, and maintenance factors. Increased awareness of one’s behaviour, emotions, and thoughts lead to better control over responses in challenging situations. Couples can learn to recognise and manage tension, preventing escalation.

Common issues addressed in relationship therapy include:

Relationship discord and recurrent arguments

Loss of trust

Feelings of loneliness

Affairs

Ending a relationship

Jealousy

Power and control issues

Becoming parents

Feeling distant from a partner

Impact of addictions

Retirement challenges

Neurodiversity and relationships

Emotional regulation during conflict

Chronic health conditions ad relationships

Cancer diagnosis and relationships

Relationship counselling helps both individuals and couples by examining past and present issues to foster positive change and deeper intimacy.

Psychosexual Therapy

Whether you are gay, lesbian, bisexual, heterosexual, or transgender, psychosexual therapy can help resolve issues in your sexual relationship. This service, often known as sex therapy, addresses a wide range of sexual concerns.

Common issues in sex therapy include:

Cessation of intimacy and sex

Loss of desire or libido (HSDD)

Erectile difficulties (erectile dysfunction)

Orgasmic issues (anorgasmia, premature ejaculation, delayed ejaculation)

Body image and sexual confidence issues

Questioning sexual identity

Vaginal discomfort or painful sex (vaginismus, GPPPD)

Unresolved historical sexual trauma or abuse

Impact of cancer treatments

Impact of chronic pain and other health conditions

Autism and sexual relationships

Psychosexual therapy offers various benefits, from the relief of discussing long-standing issues to structured programs addressing specific sexual dysfunctions. Sessions may involve behavioural tasks and mindfulness techniques to resolve problems such as painful intercourse, orgasmic difficulties, arousal disorders, and erectile dysfunction.
