About Me:

Throughout our lives, we all face moments when we could use a little extra support. While we may be fortunate to have close friends or family to turn to, there are times when seeking help from a caring professional can helpful. As a fully trained and UKCP accredited psychotherapist I offer clients of all ages a unique, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly, gain insights, develop coping strategies, and foster personal growth in a safe environment.  My practice specialises in supporting children, adolescents, adults, and parents to navigate their own unique journey. With specialist training and experience in schools, hospital settings and private practice, I have developed the skills that empower people to build and maintain lifelong resilience, emotional well-being, and healthy relationships.

My Approach:

I firmly believe that you are the expert on your own life.  My therapeutic practice is rooted in empathy, collaboration and respect for each individual’s unique experiences.  I create a secure and nurturing environment where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and feelings to create meaningful change. Employing an integrative approach, I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including psychodynamic principles, attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). My training in infant and child development further informs my practice, helping me recognise the importance of how our earliest experiences continue to shape us throughout our adult lives. This multifaceted framework allows me to tailor interventions to the needs of each individual, ensuring therapy is both relevant and effective.

My Work with Children and Adolescents:

In my work with younger clients, I employ creative techniques such as art, play, and sand therapy to facilitate emotional expression and build resilience. These approaches help children articulate their feelings in a non-verbal manner and promote a sense of safety and trust within the therapeutic relationship. For adolescents, I provide a supportive environment to explore complex issues related to identity, family and peer relationships, and academic pressures, guiding them to develop emotional intelligence and coping strategies that will serve them throughout their lives.

My Work with Adults:

I support adults to address a broad spectrum of personal challenges, including anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. By exploring the influence of early life experiences, I help clients gain insight into how these factors impact their current relationships and emotional well-being. This process assists a transition from avoidance to awareness, enabling individuals to engage in healing and personal growth. Together, we work on developing healthier relational patterns and effective coping strategies that promote long-term emotional resilience.

My Work with Parents:

I offer specialist guidance to parents navigating the complexities of raising children and adolescents. My approach focuses on fostering greater understanding of attachment styles and communication strategies, empowering parents to address behavioural concerns with confidence and compassion. Together, we explore the dynamics of family relationships, helping parents cultivate environments that support their children's emotional development and well-being.

My Qualifications & Training:

I am a UKCP Registered Therapist and hold an MA in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, which provides my work with a solid foundation in developmental psychology, theoretical knowledge, therapeutic techniques, and clinical practice. Additionally, I possess a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling, further enhancing my ability to connect with clients across a variety of age groups and a BSc in Psychology.

I attend relevant CPD to remain current with the latest research and methodologies in psychotherapy to ensure I can provide the highest standard of care.

"Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that isn't you – all of the expectations, all of the beliefs – and becoming who you are."
