A bit about my Background:
Hi! I'm Sarah and I'm an HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist. I have over 10 years of clinical experience. I currently work in an NHS Community Mental Health Team for Kensington and Chelsea alongside my private practice. I am experienced working with adults and adolescents including those with neurodevelopmental disorders: Autism and ADHD. The most essential ingredient to successful therapy is the therapeutic relationship. My aim is to provide a welcoming and compassionate space built on trust, respect and understanding. During the assessment process we would identify your therapy goals and use this as a guide for formulating a treatment plan to help you make a positive difference.
What issues do I work with?
Choosing a therapist can be a daunting task! I work with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD - and complex PTSD), self-harm, bereavement, problem gambling, self-esteem, gender dysphoria & Complex Emotional Needs, often referred to as Personality Disorders such as borderline personality disorder/EUPD.
How can I help you?
I work as an integrative therapist, which means that I draw on a number of therapy models to tailor the sessions to meet your needs. I have trained in a wide range of modalities including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), compassion focussed therapy (CFT), mindfulness, dialectic behavioural therapy (DBT), brief solution-focussed, person-centred therapy and EMDR therapy.
Do you need more information?
I realise that choosing a therapist is a daunting task and the terminology and different types of specialisms can be confusing. If there is anything you would like to know or you have any queries, please feel free to email or we can set up a free initial chat to clarify any questions you may have.
What do I do when I am not working?
When I'm not working, I enjoy cooking, working with my local charity, watching Netflix, spending time with my 4 teenagers, who love teaching me about their world, remind me how 'uncool' I am on a regular basis and particularly enjoy it when I 'therapize' them (their word!)...and our dog Bertie who never complains as long as I take him on lots of muddy walks!
